The Portuguese band Moonspell premiered today “Todos Os Santos”, one of the tracks from their upcoming special album “1755”.
This concept album focused on 1755 Lisbon Earthquake tragedy and it mainly differs from their previous releases as it will be entirely sung in their mother tongue.
The lyric video released today for “Todos Os Santos” proves that this option doesn’t diminish the intensity of their music. Take your time to enjoy the music and lyric video that touches the problems the Portuguese nation has been facing in the last years. The video shows images from several polemic situations with politicians, nation wide crises, churches, etc..
The upcoming album “1755” is set for release on November 3rd via Napalm records.
Remember Fernando Ribeiro words about the upcoming album:
“We fell in love with the concept and made perfect sense to sing it in our national language, Portuguese. I guess we were just waiting for the right opportunity to work on such an album. Musically, it will be heavier than ‘Extinct’. It will be earthshaking but also very detailed with orchestrations and percussion as we want people to relive the Lisbon of the 18th Century. Singing it in Portuguese allowed me to find a different expression as a vocalist and my job is to be the survivor of the earthquake, roaming the ruins and telling you all about it.”
“Even tough this all happened in 1755, there are still a lot of world and country leaders that think themselves as saints, with a sacred mission, chosen by any God. What really happens is that they save no one but themselves and this video showcases the message of the song: as in 2017 or 1755 all saints will not be enough to save us.”
