According to MetalInjectionMetalInjection, in a surprising turn of events, Sepultura has announced a major lineup change ahead of their final world tour. Longtime drummer Eloy Casagrande has parted ways with the band, making room for Greyson Nekrutman (Suicidal Tendencies) to take the reins.

“Welcome Greyson Nekrutman to Sepultura who replaces Eloy Casagrande who has decided to leave Sepultura,” the band shared. “Greyson’s first shows with us start March 1 as we kick off the Celebrating Life Through Death Farewell Tour.”

While Casagrande’s departure comes as a shock, the band clarified that he left to pursue “another project.” Speculations arise, hinting at Slipknot possibly unveiling a new drummer soon, given the abruptness of Casagrande’s exit.

Sepultura expressed their surprise and slight disappointment, stating that Casagrande “abandoned everything related to Sepultura.” Despite the unexpected setback, they remain focused on their upcoming farewell tour, aptly titled “Celebrating Life Through Death.”

“The Celebrating Life Through Death tour, a farewell tour over the next 18 months that will celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary and also its farewell to the stage,” the band declared.

Greyson Nekrutman, the virtuoso American drummer, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join Sepultura for their final tour. “To contribute to this legacy is a privilege that fills me with both honor and excitement,” Nekrutman remarked. “Sepultura’s fearless approach to exploring new territories in the metal sphere is something that I have always admired and strived to emulate in my own musical endeavors.”

With Nekrutman on board, Sepultura is gearing up for an electrifying farewell tour, set to captivate fans across the globe. The tour kicks off on March 1 and includes dates in various cities, promising unforgettable performances and powerful music.
