Inquisition confirmed as headliner for NADA Fest 2026

NADA Fest have revealed that the black-metal duo Inquisition is the first confirmed act for the 2026 edition of the festival, scheduled to take place in Beja, Portugal. The announcement arrives as the festival’s promoter sets the tone for what promises to be a return to extreme-metal roots, stirring anticipation among fans of underground metal.

At the moment, no other acts or lineup details have been disclosed. By naming Inquisition as the initial confirmation, the promoter signals a commitment to an uncompromising and dark aesthetic – an opening gambit likely to define the festival’s identity early on.

About Inquisition: a career defined by shadows and persistence

Founded in 1988 in Cali, Colombia, originally under the name “Guillotine,” Inquisition began as a thrash-metal project before evolving into a black-metal force by the mid-1990s. In 1996, founder and guitarist/vocalist Dagon relocated to the United States and recruited drummer Incubus – a lineup that has remained stable ever since. Their debut full-length album, Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult (1998), established the band’s signature style: slow, dark riffing contrasted with sudden tempo shifts, tremolo-picked guitar work and a dense, atmospheric sound rooted in primal metal’s raw energy.

Over the decades, Inquisition has released a steady stream of full-length albums – from early works grounded in thrash and raw black metal to more refined yet still uncompromising later records – carving a niche in the global underground. Their consistent duo lineup, rigid aesthetic and refusal to compromise on tone and atmosphere have secured them a lasting legacy: they remain a reference point for fans of black metal seeking unyielding intensity and authenticity.
