According to the official Rock In Rio website, Metallica will perform in Lisbon next year.
“After a spectacular concert at the Rock in Rio 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, Metallica return to the Portuguese edition of the biggest event of music and entertainment world, where they will present fans with a concert dedicated to the Portuguese “Black Album”.
With a 30-year-long career, Metallica will perform in the World Stage on May 25, 2012, the first day of the event.
Current lineup features James Hetfield (vocals), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass). Metallica met in 1981 in Los Angeles and since then they have been building a successful career marked in 1991 with the issue of self-titled album “Metallica”, better known as “Black Album” because of its black cover, which includes songs that are still authentic heavy metal anthems, such as “Enter Sandman,” “Sad But True”, “The Unforgiven” and “Nothing Else Matters”. Frequently appearing in the Portuguese stages, and having already performed at Rock in Rio-Lisboa in 2004 and 2008, Metallica now return for a special concert dedicated to the Portuguese audience, a performance that is expected to be memorable.
Similar to what happened in previous editions, Rock in Rio-Lisbon dedicate again a day to Metal, providing unforgettable concerts in Parque da Bela Vista.
Tickets for this unique day will be on sale as early as December 21 FNAC stores and the event’s official website: www.rockinriolisboa.sapo.pt.”
