Dir En Grey kicked off their 2020 European last Saturday the 25th in Russia.
The ever-evolving Japanese 5-piece return to Europe just 15 months after their last show in the Old Continent, for a total of 10 shows across six countries.
Dir En Grey’s last European tour was a complicated affair. Kicking off a few days after their acclaimed 10th album, “The Insulated World”, came out, both new and old songs were met with praise by fans and critics alike, and Kyo’s vocal problems were a distant memory by then. However, the tour was plagued by a whole new set of issues, from a last-minute change of venue in Munich to technical problems in Paris and London that led the band to apologize on social media and promise to come back soon. They’ve kept their promise and we can’t remember the last time they’ve returned to Europe so quickly. The fact they’re returning to just about every city in which they’ve had problems (and a few new ones) is definitely a plus.
While their 2018 European tour featured songs from most of their albums, their latest US tour saw the band play “The Insulated World” in full, plus their newest single, “The World of Mercy”, and a couple of older songs for good measure. We can’t help but wonder if that’s what in store for the Euro crowd as well.
The demand for tickets has been high since the tour has been announced, and more info on the remaining standard tickets can be found here (https://nine-lives-entertainment.com/artist/58/DIR%20EN%20GREY ). VIP tickets are already sold out for every single show.
