Irish extreme-metal veterans Primordial return to Portugal this December for two headline shows promoted by Notredame Productions. The band will perform on 6 December at Sala M.Ou.Co in Porto and 7 December at RCA Club in Lisbon, bringing their 2023 album How It Ends back to the stage.
Both dates feature Music In Low Frequencies as the opening act, while the Lisbon concert includes an additional performance by Sinistro, one of Portugal’s most distinctive doom-progressive groups. Tickets for both nights are available through the usual outlets for €25.
Sinistro: A doom/progressive metal band from Lisbon, active since 2011. Their eponymous debut (2012) — initially instrumental — blended atmospheric, cinematic textures with a soundtrack-like sensibility.
With the addition of vocals in 2013’s Cidade EP, Sinistro began layering melancholic, haunting melodies over their doom-laden soundscapes.
They signed with the label Season Of Mist in 2016 and released Semente, a record that deepened their unique language: a blend of doom, progressive metal, emotional intensity — sometimes evoking a “rock/fado” atmosphere.
Music In Low Frequencies: A Portuguese project known for heavy yet atmospheric and experimental performances. They open for Primordial on both tour dates, providing a powerful and immersive sonic introduction to the night.
This lineup promises contrasting but complementary atmospheres: from the dense, introspective doom-progressive of Sinistro; through the ambient-heavy experimental weight of Music In Low Frequencies; to the epic pagan/black-metal force of Primordial.
Doors open at 19:00 in Porto (show at 20:00) and 18:00 in Lisbon (show at 19:00). The double date marks the band’s long-awaited return to Portuguese stages, promising two intense and atmospheric nights led by one of Europe’s most enduring forces in pagan and black metal.
