We’re just a week away from one of Portugal’s most exciting year-end extreme music fests, Under The Doom.
A celebration that started 6 years ago and that immediately generated a steady pilgrimage to both RCA Club and the LAV (Lisboa Ao Vivo) showroom with good reason: fixtures like Samael, Lacuna Coil, Ahab, Saturnus, Forgotten Tomb, Acherontas, Gold, Green Carnation, Liv Kristine Espenæs, Novembers Doom and a handful of others have already played at this exquisite festival in southern Europe.
This time around, 12 are the reasons to heed the tolling bells of misfortune: Arcturus (NO), Shining (SWE), Sólstafir (IS), Sinistro (PT), Draconian (SWE), Desire (PT), While Heaven Wept (USA), Antimatter (UK), The Wounded (NL), Kontinuum (IS), Collapse Of Light (PT), and Wyatt E. (BEL). If this wasn’t already enough, none other than Mr. Alan “Nemtheanga” Averill (Primordial / Dread Sovereign) will be spinning records all night long as an invited DJ during the first day’s after-party.
Priming for an offer focused on the most elitist and niche-oriented heavy metal and rock subgenres like doom metal, black metal, avantgarde metal, dark rock, or goth-rock, the Under The Doom fest takes place on Dec 7-8 in Lisbon, Portugal.
