On the 26th of September, Wrath Sins took Metalpoint by storm to commemorate the release of their debut record “Contempt Over The Stormfall”.

Evilution opened the night with their gig. Their performance cause the first few movements in the crowed, although the house wasn’t nearly was made as it should. But that didn’t bothered them, for half an hour the band distilled some good thrash metal and even presented a new song, “Nuclear Devastation” from their upcoming EP.

Up next was Rotura. Coming all the way from Covilhã, the band continued the wave of destruction. The group’s sound, more of a hardcore style, was a bit different, despite being well received. By that time the crowd was more composed and group showed us what they know how to do best.

Monolyth are already a well known group in the Portuguese scene, especially after the release of their album “Origins” last year. It was an intense discharge of sound that filled up the room. From start to finish there was headbanging, moshpits and even stage diving. The band was on fire and delivered an amazing performance. In the end, they even had a “encore” to end the show in a high point.

Finally, the most awaited moment of the night arrived when Wrath Sins got on stage. It was their return to live shows, after spending the last year away focusing on the recordings of their debut release, “Contempt Over The Stormfall”. A neat performance whereas the group played the record in full, and had few surprises and special guests in the middle. One of the guests was Fernando Martins, from WEB, that lent his voice to the track “Textured Vengeance”; the other was Miguel Inglês from Equaleft that helped sing “Solipsism”. The special touch was provided by a medley made of theme songs from tv shows from our youth such as Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dragon Ball GT. The response of a more than full house was the best one possible and the band enchanted and delivered completely what was expected of them. It was a great night that will not be forgotten soon.
