Backtrack Lane, the band of the Gatti brothers, Raphael (vocals, bass) and Stefan (rhythm guitar, backing vocals) was formed back in 2009. In 2012 the band released its debut full-length “Black Truth&White Lies”. In 2017 the quartet completed by Adrien Crestey (lead guitar, backing vocal) and Gui O’Crest (drums, backing vocals) released “In Fine”.
As a first impression, this is an EP which reinforces the Alternative Rock style of the group. The group knows how to fit a great deal of Groove into songs like “Fifteen Minutes” and even remembers the Grunge era in “Underground”. In fact, the band is also very inspired by the 90’s Hard Rock scene, but it doesn’t conceal its modern side as in “Perfect Motion” which has a very cool chorus. Bands such as Foo Fighters, Gun ‘n Roses or even Pearl Jam can be considered as influential acts of Backtrack Lane’s sound.
In addition to the riffs and melodies composed with a certain beauty, the band knew how to invest in great musical arrangements that make the album more exciting. This creates a willing to repeat the dose after the last song is finished.

Overall, “In Fine” is a nice independent work that has the songs “Breaking the Rules” and “After the Rain” as their greatest highlights. Here’s a name to keep in mind because you will certainly hear more about Backtrack Lane in the future.
