Bodie is an ambient folk solo project mainly composed by acoustic guitars, and ethereal ritualistic choruses.
The newest EP “First” of this one man band created by Thomas Noel, is a blending of melodic and melancholic elements with cinematographic universes, that will guide the listener through shadows cast over a sunny afternoon. We can expect something really smooth, nothing festive like most of the folk nowadays, like we’ll hear in songs like “All These Days” (some of the riffs remind of the Ulcerate’s quiet parts), “Church”, and “The River”. Recorded at home, then mastered at Zoe H studio, this EP offers an otherworldly but always clear sound, dark without being depressing, meditative without being boring. Quite good for meditating and introspective moments. For live gigs, the band is composed by Hugo Moerman (Glaciation) on guitar and keyboards, François Duguest (Glaciation) on drums, and Zoé (Herrschaft/CNK) on bass.
If the listener is looking for something calm to play in between strongest albums, this is something you might want to give a listen too. Definitely a project to keep an eye on in the future.
