Jorn Lande is one of those vocalists that need no introduction. Well known in hard rock and metal world due to his solo career, and for the last collaborations with Avantasia, “Life On The Dead Road” is the last record of the Norwegian voice of rock, packed with originals after the previous album of covers, and fueled with that old school feeling that hits the spot of every fan of good old fashion rock n’roll.
Jorn is joined on this trip in the death road by the great riffs and solos of Alex Beyrodt, the bass of Mat Sinner, the keyboards of Alessandro Del Vecchio (also helped in production), and the drums Francesco Jovino. With well written lyrics and produced by Jorn himself, songs like “Hammered to the Cross (The Business)”, “Love Is the Remedy”, “Dreamwalker”, “Fire to the Sun”, “The Optimist” (with the participation of Gus G.), the nostalgic “Man of the 80’s”, and the great finale “Blackbirds” will leave every listener of hard rock satisfied with the result of an album.
This release made by talent musicians, who take nothing for granted when it comes to composition, have been able to create something that we feel that comes with a heart and soul, combining their experience with a natural vibe that flows loose throughout the record. Another sticky one on the ears for this summer, and a must-have (and listen too) by every hard rock fan out there.
