Dave Mustaine and company are back with “Dystopia”. The formation that record this album with Dave was David Ellefson on bass, KikoLoureirofrom Angraon lead guitar, and on drums most known for his work with Lamb of God, Chris Adler. New members means new blood, with fresh ideas, some new input, and maybe some other surprises. We left that for you to find out. “The Threat Is Real” is the opening track, with some Arabic influences that shows us the vision of Dave about what’s going on with the world nowadays, and listening to it, we all know what he’s talking about. It’s mostly the lyric concept that we could find in this record, as we’ll hear also in “Post American World”. Back to the instrumental, “Dystopia” is probably one of the best Megadeth songs ever, making the guitar solos and drums sound great for themselves, thanks to the fantastic production that does the same in most of the songs. “Fatal Illusion”, “Death From Within”, “Bullet To The Brain”, and “The Emperor” are another examples of great songs where the production does wonders. One of main reasons why the album sounds so good was the record process, that was done in 3 studios: during April-June 2015 at Lattitude South Studios inLeiper’s Fork, Tennessee, then mixed at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California, and finally mastered at Sterling Sound in New York, all in USA. Finally the album ends with a cover of Fear, “Foreign Policy”.
