Nails have been on the rise, taking the world of extreme music by storm, since their first album came out in 2010. Now 6 years later, they’ve dropped their third full length album, titled “You Will Never Be One Of Us”, through Nuclear Blast Records.

Being their longest album to date, with 21 minutes and 43 seconds, it’s also their heaviest one so far. Thanks to the fantastic job made by Kurt Ballou, best known as the guitarist from the band Converge, Nails could have not asked for a better producer. Some could think that the departure of the guitarist Andy Saba was a negative point forwards the band’s correct sound.  Looking back at their 2013 album “Abandon All Life”, we can notice a big difference on metalized riffs, pushing towards the death metal genre. But on their new album, Nails are back to what they do best, raw ruthless aggression in form of music.

The song writing is savage in every aspect. Chugging slamming hardcore riffs that are made to beat the entire crowd, with occasional blast beats to settle true chaos in the audience. The guitar sound is evenmore raw than before, somewhat close to the typical Swedish death metal bands that we all know and love like Entombed or Dismember. There’s also a couple of solos here and there to help break the tension, make you catch breath and maintain the beauty of nihilism that they try to invoke upon us through their lyrics. When you see an album that has a song named “Life is a Death Sentence” and the song begins with ”Born guilty into this prison”, you know you are in for a treat about disgust for humanity.

To help you immerse in their chaos, they choose Jef Whitehead, aka  Wrest of Leviathan, to make their stunning artwork. Nails not only delivered a great album, but they also raised the bar for themselves and other bands too. We will patiently wait their new work, because “Violence Is Forever”. Meanwhile, get this album on the nearest record store and blats it anywhere you can. A must for every extreme music fan!
