Retro rock bands nowadays are coming up like cherries a bit from all over the place. Altough there’s bands that have something more within them, something special or unique, and Pristine is one of those bands. The Norwegian group is back with their new album “Reboot”.
It’s a great presentation if the listener don’t know the band. Commanded by the great voice of Heidi Solheim, we can find very good structured songs like the opening “Derek”, “All of My Love”, and “Bootie Call”, which the band made a video for. There’s also room for melancholic melodies that we find in “All I Want is You”, “Don’t Save My Soul”, and the last song “The Lemon Waltz”, where we listen to all the mastery of EspenElverumJakobsen’s guitar, and Benjamin Mørk on hammond organ, giving a very nice touch to the songs and that retro feeling, digging also some psych / blues melodies. Very influenced by these genres the band present us also songs like “Louis Lane”, “The Middlemen”, and “Reboot”, a song that has also a little bit of folk which enriches the track in a unique way.
Produced by Pristine Music Productions, the album flows very well, and sounds very organic which is something really enjoyable in this genre of music, where nothing seems forced. ÅsmundWilter Eriksson on bass, and Kim Karlsen on drums completes a formation that has everything to win.
