Regarde Les Hommes Tomber – Exile

Regarde-Les-Hommes-Tomber-–-Exile2015

After a solid debut album released in 2013, which was well received by both press and fans, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber are back with another pillar of crushing Post-Black / Sludge Doom hymns.

In the same vein as the previous record, “Exile” starts of with a hypnotic introduction that builds up the tension until it all explodes in a chaotic wave of the Black Metal side of Regarde Les Hommes Tomber. One can immediately notice that the production in this album is less clear than its predecessor, but that is not a bad thing as it helps create the necessary atmosphere among the dissonant riffs and pounding drums.
The beginning riffs of “Embrace the Flames” are the kind of melodies that will haunt your mind during the listening experience as time goes by, only to be replaced by the peaceful parts that are carefully written in order to release the stress created by the sound storm that these songs are. “They came…” allows you to take a quick breath before being taken back into the slumber that these French guys generate in the shape of “To Take us”.

The song which finished the record is an epic ending to a frantic journey, filled with hypnotic moments, chaotic waves of sound and peaceful yet brief moments of calm. A step forward in creativity applied to a solid structure that remains untouched.
