Tsjuder – Antiliv

It’s been almost 4 years since the last record, the triumphant return of one of the strongest Norwegian black metal bands, was more than waited by the fans, and they delivered another crushing record called “Antiliv”.

In terms of sound, if follows up exactly where “Legion Helvete” was left, and we can hear lyrics both in English and in Norwegian. Black metal with no compromise, fast with a very aggressive touch is what we can find, as we can hear right from the beginning in tracks like “Kaos”, and “Krater”. “Norge” is grim to the core, a great black metal song in all is essence. The destruction continues in “Djevelensmesterverk”, “Demonic Supremacy”, and “Slumber with the Worm”. The best is saved for the end for the tracks “Vedferdensende”, and the album title track “Antiliv”, cruel exercises of how this genre can still have epic touches without adding too much melody.

One of the reasons the sound is so good for a black metal record is that the drums were recorded in the Klang Studio in Oslo, guitars and voice in Farm Studio, and finally mixed and mastered in Sonic Train Studios in Sweden. Could be the best album of the band, and let’s hope that everybody could have necks for this one, because the hideous beast is back, and there’s a lot of darkness and black n’roll waiting for us.
