Being very active in the latest years, the Polish death metal force Vader released another record called “The Empire”. After 30 years of innumerous releases of albums, EP’s, and singles, they still carry with them the characteristic heaviness on guitars and the pounding rhythmic section, that we’ll hear in ferocious songs like “Angels of Steel”, “Tempest”, “Prayer to the God of War”, “Iron Reign”, and “Parabellum”, which are great shredding moments of a record that shows nothing new to the listener, but has still some great riffs to enjoy, along with a good song writing.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Wojtek Wiesławski, and SławekWiesławski, this album is a great exercise of death metal with good thrash moments that will delight old school fans, and also most recent listeners. It’s an album that maintains the same process of doing things that works for this band, nothing fancy, but with a punchy sound, thrashing the way through, until we reach the final moment “Send Me Back to Hell”.

Sounds like the band it’s trying to get back to their roots, keeping things simple and effective, but the listener might get tired of this album soon, apart of Vader die-hard listeners.

Eventually some of us will come back to listen to this, when we needs to hear some good old school death metal again, straight forward, because sometimes more is less, and old school bands survived and stood by this line all the way until today, and one of those bands is Vader.
