The anticipation for Vagos Metal Fest 2024 continues to build with the addition of another heavyweight act to the festival’s roster. Following the confirmations of BLIND GUARDIAN, EPICA, SAMAEL, and SUFFOCATION, the festival has announced that the legendary American thrashers OVERKILL will also headline this year’s event.

Scheduled to take place from August 2 to 4, 2024, at Quinta do Ega, the 7th edition of Vagos Metal Fest is shaping up to be a landmark occasion for metal enthusiasts. The inclusion of OVERKILL, alongside BLIND GUARDIAN and EPICA, significantly enhances the festival’s appeal. Known for their relentless thrash metal and enduring influence, OVERKILL’s performance will be a highlight of the festival, bringing their latest album, Scorched, to the stage. With a career spanning over four decades and twenty studio albums, OVERKILL continues to maintain a revered cult status despite not reaching the mainstream heights of contemporaries like Metallica or Slayer.

The festival’s lineup is already impressive, featuring an array of international and local talent. Confirmed acts include American bands SUFFOCATION and UADA, Swiss metallers SAMAEL and THOLA, Finnish group INSOMNIUM, Swedish outfit DYNAZTY, Italian folk metal legends ELVENKING, and Dutch death metal titans GOD DETHRONED. Additionally, Brazilian death metal outfit NERVOCHAOS and local Portuguese acts such as MÃO MORTA, GROG, GWYDION, TERROR EMPIRE, TOXIKULL, HO CHI MINH, and QUINTETO EXPLOSIVO will showcase the diverse talent within the metal scene.
