When this year’s Inferno Festival was cancelled due to the current Corona virus crisis also cancelled the much-anticipated guided Virtual Reality tour “Midnight Cemetery” that was going to be brought to you by Costin Chioreanu and Adrian Tabacaru. The exhibition would have encompassed the entire story of the album “Afterlife Romance” by Chioreanu and Sofia Sarri, and would have allowed fans to enter the world of Costin Chioreanu’s art, enabling them to walk amongst, and through, elements of his artwork, and to interact with them at some levels.

Having seen how the cancellation of all live shows and forced isolation has affected the morale of music fans everywhere, Dark Essence Records and Fruits of Venus Productions have joined forces to give fans something to look forward to by offering the “Midnight Cemetery” experience to everyone as a free-to-download Virtual Reality Tour.

Produced by Adrian Tabacaru and Costin Chioreanu “Midnight Cemetery” can be explored using a dedicated VR-Headset, or as a standalone PC Game. As Dark Essence explains:

In these dark times for humanity, Fruits of Venus Productions and Dark Essence Records are starting a campaign to spread a combination of art, music and technology, using some alternative tools and a new type of approach in what will be a first in the history of metal music.

After the “Midnight Cemetery” exhibition, which was supposed to have its premiere at Inferno Festival 2020, was cancelled due to the current pandemic, Costin Chioreanu and Adrian Tabacaru, the creators of this amazing virtual experience, realised that this project was suitable for spreading all over the world, and, that by doing so, they could offer moments of magic to people in lock-down in their homes. Having released “Afterlife Romance” in 2019 and hearing Costin’s ideas, we were also enthusiastic about this endeavour.

As Fruits of Venus comments:

You will hopefully find that the “Midnight Cemetery” virtual tour is a new way to experience art in the current digital domain. A premiere for the music industry, it gives a new dimension to a recording, by giving life not just to the music, but also to all the illustrations created for booklets, in one fascinating virtual experience.

Instead of being stuck in Oslo, and available only to those attending Inferno 2020 “Midnight Cemetery” will now be available world-wide and everyone will be able to experience it via a free download App. The world-wide premiere is set for March 31st, 2020 and on that day we will publish the download link so you can enjoy it, and spread it to your friends and beyond.

Whilst waiting for its impending release, you can check out the very first images from this experience and see a little insight into the creation of the project:
