Portuguese black metalers SCARIFICARE are the first band confirmed for this year edition, to presente their well suceed 2013 album “Postulado”. Less than three months to the festival, more names are to be revealed.
SCARIFICARE is a band from Oporto, Portugal formed in late 2006 by Crusher (vocalist/bass), Quetzalcoatl (guitars), ex Serpent Lore and Wrath members ,and Sothis (drums).
The main purpose of the band is to make extreme metal music inspired in all cosmic forces, the knowlegde of ancient religions and therefore in ourselves.
In early 2007, based in that ambition , Inverno has joined the band leaving Crusher totally dedicated to vocals and lyrics.
After some gigs and highly acclaimed by the audience, Scarificare recorded a demo-tape called “Sulphurous wrath” edited by the Portuguese label “Skull Productions”.
In 2008, Sothis leaves the band because of personal reasons, giving place to Njord on drums.
Scarificare participate in the Portuguese BlackMetal Compilation “Lusitania Dark Hord II” with one exclusive and original track : “Burning Abyss” .
In 2009, the band entered on Studio 231 for recording the first album : “Perpetual Decline”. Its was self-financed and realesed in 9 October 2010.
After some live concerts in Portugal and Spain for promoting the album, Crusher leaves the band.
The current line up of the band is Quetzalcoatl (vocalist/guitars), Nyord (drums) and Inverno (bass).
The second upcoming album “Postulado” has been recorded during the fall of 2012 and April 2013.
“Postulado” will be out in October 2013 by the Portuguese label Helldprod.
