GOJIRA releases teaser for the upcoming album

GOJIRA is working in the new album, still untitled, and already decided to tease their fans that patiently wait the follow up album of the L’enfant sauvage. The new album is suppose to be released this summer but no specific date was announced by the band yet. The album is being build in Joe DuPlantier’s New York studio.

Personal tragedy afflicted Joe and his brother Mario (drummer) during the writing of the new album.  Their mother got sick and passed away during the creative phase of the album and they explain how that is reflected in their lyrics.

Joe tells: “The songs were half-written while she was sick. After she died, I still had to finish them. So one song was like, ‘You’re going to make it,’ but the second verse is ‘You didn’t make it.’

Mario adds: “When you read Joe’s lyrics, for me, I cry right away. They’re very deep and to the point. No bullshit. We recycle our sadness and depression in the music.”

The small video teaser gives the fans a hint of what to expect from the 2016 new Gojira album. Hopefully some of the new songs will be already performed live in the next shows around europe (check the dates below).
