Portuguese brutal death metal outfit ANALEPSY have officially announced David Bento (Resurge) as the band’s new vocalist, ushering in a new chapter in the group’s history.
Following several months of working together behind the scenes, the band has now revealed Bento as the latest addition to its ranks, confirming that new material and future plans are already underway.
Commenting on his appointment, David Bento shared his enthusiasm for joining one of the country’s leading extreme metal acts:
“I’m beyond honored to be joining Analepsy as their new vocalist.
I’ve had a close connection with the band for many years through my friendship with Marco. Ever since I was a teenager, Analepsy has been one of my all-time favorite bands and one of my biggest influences as a vocalist. They were one of the bands that inspired me to become a vocalist and start playing in bands myself.
I have nothing but respect for Calin and everything he has done for the band. I know this is a huge challenge, and I’ll give my absolute best to be worthy of this opportunity. A huge thank you to the guys for putting their trust in me. It truly means the world to me, and I can’t wait to start this new chapter with all of you.”
Bento’s arrival follows the departure of longtime frontman Calin Paraschiv, whose contribution to ANALEPSY helped establish the band as one of Portugal’s most internationally recognised names in brutal death metal. In his statement, Bento acknowledged his predecessor’s legacy while expressing his determination to honour the band’s history and contribute to its future.
The announcement also signals that the band has already begun working with its new vocalist, suggesting that fans can expect further news in the coming months.
