Two years after “Nova”, Sylvaine, a musical project of the artist Kathrine Shepard, released on March 22nd the EP “Eg Er Framand”, translating from Norwegian to English “I am Foreigner”.
In this EP do not expect heavy or bold sounds, expect something more intimate and quiet, the highlight is the voice of Kathrine Shepard who once again managed to demonstrate her great talent beautifully.
“Eg Er Framand”, is a journey not only to traditional Norwegian music but also a journey of contrasts between light and shadow, it can be said that it is a meditative journey to the intimate of the human being/ the ephemerality of life, starting with the first song “Dagsens Auga Sloknar Ut”. “Livet Dans” also transports us elsewhere, the forests of Norway maybe (?), Kathrine’s voice and the whole instrumental are in perfect sync taking us to a state of pure relaxation.
For the fans of folklore, this album is just perfect, for those who expected a little black metal you will not find in this Ep, but it is worth listening to. It’s an excellent work, able to make us reflect and transport us to another world or state of mind.
