Megadeth confirmed as co-headliners of Evillive Festival 2026

The legendary band led by Dave Mustaine will descend on Lisbon for one of the concerts on their farewell tour.

The legendary American thrash metal outfit MEGADETH have been confirmed as co-headliners of the 2026 edition of EVILLIVƎ FESTIVAL, adding an undeniable historical weight to a line-up that already includes fellow Americans MARILYN MANSON and MASTODON, Dutch pioneers THE GATHERING and Swedish rising stars IMMINENCE. Their performance on 5 July 2026 at the MEO Arena in Lisbon forms part of the official farewell tour of one of the most influential and respected bands in the history of heavy music.

Portugal therefore assumes a prominent role in this final farewell, and MEGADETH’s appearance at EVILLIVƎ FESTIVAL is already set to become an unforgettable moment in the collective memory of Portuguese fans. If only because it represents a truly historic occasion, one that will never be repeated, while further reinforcing the international stature of the event.

After 43 years of defining, reinventing and elevating thrash metal on a global scale, MEGADETH have recently entered the final chapter of a career unlike any other. Founded and led by Dave Mustaine, the band were among the creators of the genre, an undisputed member of the legendary ‘Big Four’ alongside METALLICA, SLAYER and ANTHRAX, and responsible for a catalogue that has shaped entire generations of musicians and fans alike. Millions of records sold, songs that have become universal anthems and an unmistakable musical identity have firmly established the quartet as one of the foremost institutions in heavy music.

As such, this final MEGADETH performance in Lisbon promises to be the ultimate journey through the band’s career, with a setlist spanning from the classic tracks that helped define thrash metal in the 1980s through to the present day. The concert will also serve as a showcase for the band’s seventeenth and final studio album, the self-titled Megadeth, released on 23 January, which stands as the concluding chapter of a legendary discography, bringing the remarkable journey of one of the greatest bands in the history of heavy music to a symbolic and definitive close.

With this announcement, EVILLIVƎ FESTIVAL further strengthens a line-up already distinguished by its stylistic diversity, historical significance and artistic relevance. The return of shock rocker MARILYN MANSON, the progressive precision of MASTODON, the emotional impact of THE GATHERING’s return to the stage with Anneke van Giersbergen, and the continued rise of IMMINENCE, one of the fastest-growing names in modern European heavy music, now find their definitive centrepiece in MEGADETH. Presented in a concentrated one-day format, the 2026 edition of the Lisbon festival offers an international-calibre line-up and a clear artistic vision, bringing together the past, the present and a historic farewell in one unforgettable night.

Tickets for EVILLIVE FESTIVAL are priced between €75 and €79 and are available now at primeartists.eu and from the usual ticket outlets.
