After more than three decades, the British band will return to Portugal for two dates in Lisbon and Porto, as part of their 2026 tour.
Transvision Vamp are back on the road, and Portugal is one of the first stops of their international return, with the two concerts promoted by Clapbox. Led by Wendy James, the British band will perform on September 30 at LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo and on October 1 at Hard Club, in Porto. The band’s return to Portugal comes more than three decades after their last visit in November 1989. Formed in London in 1986, Transvision Vamp made their mark in the late 1980s with a sound that brought together pop, punk and alternative rock.
The band achieved international success with the albums Pop Art (1988) and Velveteen (1989), the latter reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart. For this new chapter, Wendy James returns as the band’s lead vocalist, joined by Dave Parsons, an original member and bassist. The current line-up also features Alex Ward and Pip Stakem on guitars, Matt Millership on keyboards, and James Sclavunos on drums, known for his work with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
After Lisbon and Porto, the band will continue through Spain before heading to the UK and Ireland in October and November. The UK and Ireland leg will mark the band’s first tour of the region since 1991, with dates in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin and Belfast.
For the Portuguese shows, fans can expect to hear some of the band’s best-known songs, including «Revolution Baby», «I Want Your Love», «Baby I Don’t Care», «If Looks Could Kill» and «Landslide of Love».
