Burning Q Festival 2027 adds Sylvaine, Hellripper and Asphyx to line-up
Burning Q Festival will return to Freißenbüttel, near Osterholz-Scharmbeck in northern Germany, from July 22nd to 24th 2027. The open-air festival has announced a line-up spanning black metal, death metal, thrash, doom and other forms of heavy music, with 21 acts confirmed at the latest count.
Among the announced names are Sylvaine, Hellripper and Asphyx. Sylvaine, the atmospheric metal project led by Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Kathrine Shepard, brings a sound that combines black metal with shoegaze and expansive atmospheric passages. Her appearance provides a contrast to the more aggressive styles represented elsewhere on the bill.
Scottish musician James McBain’s project Hellripper draws on speed metal, thrash and black metal, while Dutch death metal veterans Asphyx represent a more direct and uncompromising approach to the genre.
The current line-up also includes The Night Eternal, Moribund Oblivion, Teutonic Slaughter, Bianca, Celestielle, Eternal Evil, Fimbul Winter, Hunger, Kerrigan, Necrotic Woods, Nicht, Ondfødt, Revel in Flesh, Spell, Struck a Nerve, The Black Court, The Omega Swarm and Traitor.
Burning Q is organised as a camping festival with two stages, allowing audiences to move between different branches of the metal scene over three days.
The 2026 edition sold out, according to festival coverage, and the organisers have opened advance sales for the next edition.
The festival takes place at the Burning Q Festivalwiese, Heimelberg 15, in Freißenbüttel, near Osterholz-Scharmbeck. Tickets and practical information are available through the official festival website.
