As what promises to be the festival’s largest and most ambitious edition to date draws closer, anticipation continues to build for Vagos Metal Fest 2026. From 5 to 9 August, Quinta do Ega will once again welcome thousands of fans making their annual pilgrimage to the heart of metal in Portugal.
This year, the festival will extend across five consecutive days, presenting a monumental line-up alongside an enhanced experience both inside and beyond the main festival grounds.
The Major Highlights of 2026
American giants Lamb Of God return to Portugal to present their new album, Into Oblivion, promising a sonic storm driven by new material and the landmark classics that established them at the forefront of modern metal. The legendary Godsmack will return to Portugal for the first time since 2001, bringing to Vagos the infectious energy and greatest hits of a career marked by multiple platinum-selling releases.
Following two completely sold-out performances in Lisbon in 2024, Dutch band Within Temptation will bring their world-class symphonic metal and majestic live production to Quinta do Ega, ready to make the festival stage tremble. They will be joined by Swedish melodic death metal masters In Flames, making their long-awaited debut at the Capital of Metal. The band will bring the precision and melodic aggression that helped revolutionise the genre over several decades.
The mysticism and darkness of Norwegian black metal will return with the iconic Satyricon, who previously dominated the festival in 2019. Meanwhile, Germany’s Heaven Shall Burn promise to shake the grounds with their devastating fusion of metalcore and melodic death metal. The extreme intensity continues with veteran death metal band Deicide, led by Glen Benton, as well as the raw, uncompromising punk and hardcore attitude of legendary New York scene pioneers Cro-Mags.
The line-up is completed by an extensive and diverse selection covering the full spectrum of metal and extreme music. It includes prominent names such as Doro, performing a special Warlock set, Katatonia, Korpiklaani, Massacration, Combichrist, R.A.M.P., Cryptopsy, Coven, Suicidal Angels, The Troops Of Doom, Thundermother, Employed To Serve, Toxikull and Holocausto Canibal, alongside dozens of other artists.
Much More Than Concerts
Vagos Metal Fest has become far more than a music festival. It is a complete celebration of alternative culture, community and shared experience. For 2026, the organisers are placing renewed emphasis on this dimension of the event. All festival pass and ticket holders will have access to the camping area located within the festival grounds. The campsite will be equipped with shower and toilet facilities, ensuring comfort, safety and immediate proximity to the heart of the event.
For those seeking an additional level of convenience, DOMO CAMP glamping will once again be available, offering fully equipped accommodation structures.
The festival’s social area will be expanded through the Beer Garden and a vibrant Street Market. The market will include an on-site tattoo studio, merchandise stalls, alternative brands and a varied selection of food options. It will serve as a genuine meeting point where visitors can experience the unique spirit of Vagos from the festival’s opening moment until its conclusion.
