Rotting Christ announce Two Exclusive Portuguese shows for March 2027

Greek extreme metal band Rotting Christ will return to Portugal for two exclusive concerts in March 2027. The band will perform at Hard Club in Porto on March 19, followed by a show at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo in Lisbon on March 20. Portuguese black metal band ANZV will support both dates.

These concerts will be the band’s only performances in Portugal during 2027. The shows will also precede a new album expected towards the end of the year, marking the beginning of another phase for the long-running Greek band.

Led by vocalist and guitarist Sakis Tolis, Rotting Christ have built an extensive career spanning more than three decades, developing a sound that combines black metal with Greek and broader Eastern Mediterranean influences. The upcoming Portuguese dates are being presented as special occasions, with the band emphasising accessibility and its relationship with its audience.

Tolis addressed the ticket pricing policy, explaining that keeping admission affordable is particularly important amid rising living costs worldwide.

“With the cost of living rising so much all around the world, offering affordable tickets is more important than ever,” he said. “We want our fans to enjoy the music and be part of these events without having to worry too much about the cost.”

ANZV will open both concerts. The Portuguese band has attracted attention within the black metal underground through an approach rooted in traditional black metal and informed by Mesopotamian mythology. Their name refers to Anzû, a creature from Mesopotamian mythology described as a storm bird, sometimes depicted with the head of a lion and associated with the south wind and thunderclouds.

Currently associated with Edged Circle Productions, ANZV have been expanding their live presence and establishing themselves as a notable name within Portugal’s contemporary black metal scene. Their inclusion on both dates brings together two generations of extreme metal, with the Portuguese band’s mythological themes complementing the darker aesthetic of the headliners.

Tickets for both concerts are priced at 25€ until 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027, the price will rise to 28€, with tickets costing 30€ on the day of each show. A free meet-and-greet with Rotting Christ will take place after each concert, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the band.
