EPICA bring The Symphonic Synergy to Portugal in 2027

Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA will return to Portugal on 11 October 2027 for a special concert at Sagres Campo Pequeno in Lisbon. The show will be part of the band’s 25th anniversary celebrations and will present The Symphonic Synergy, a production combining EPICA with a full orchestra and choir.

The Lisbon date is one of only 11 European concerts announced for the production, making it a limited opportunity to experience the band’s music in an expanded symphonic format. Previous performances of The Symphonic Synergy at London’s Royal Albert Hall and São Paulo’s Vibra sold out in less than three days.

Celebrating 25 years of EPICA

Founded in the Netherlands in 2002 by guitarist and composer Mark Jansen, EPICA have become one of the established names in European symphonic metal.

Throughout their career, the band have combined heavy guitar-driven arrangements with orchestral instrumentation, choirs, keyboards and the distinctive vocals of Simone Simons. Albums including The Phantom Agony, Design Your Universe, The Holographic Principle and Omega have contributed to the band’s development and international profile.

The Symphonic Synergy places these orchestral elements at the centre of the live experience, expanding the band’s regular concert format with a full orchestra and choir.

A limited European production

With only 11 dates scheduled across Europe, the production represents a departure from a conventional EPICA tour. The expanded line-up allows the band’s compositions to be presented with greater emphasis on their orchestral and choral arrangements.

The Portuguese concert will give local audiences the opportunity to experience the production during the band’s 25th anniversary year, with Sagres Campo Pequeno providing the setting for the Lisbon performance.

Ticket sales

EPICA’s official fan presale is currently open exclusively to fans subscribed to the band’s newsletter.

The local presale will begin on 16 September at 09:00 through the Free Music newsletter, while general ticket sales will start on 18 September.
