Motionless In White announce exclusive Portugal concert in 2027

Motionless In White Set Exclusive Portugal Date for 2027

Motionless In White will return to Portugal in 2027 for an exclusive concert at MEO Arena in Lisbon, promoted by Prime Artists, where the American metalcore band will present material from their latest album, Decades. The concert is scheduled for 4 July 2027 and will be the band’s only Portuguese date on the announced European tour.

Led by vocalist Chris Motionless, the Pennsylvania band have spent more than two decades developing a sound that combines metalcore with industrial, gothic, alternative metal and electronic influences. Their 2027 European campaign will adopt a different format from a conventional touring package, with the band selecting the line-up for each individual concert.

The Lisbon date will therefore form part of a European tour in which the supporting acts will vary from venue to venue, according to the band’s own selections.

Motionless In White return with Decades

The Portuguese concert comes during the current Decades era of Motionless In White. Released in July 2026, the album is the band’s seventh studio record and marks two decades of activity since their formation in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The album continues the band’s established combination of metalcore, industrial metal, gothic influences, electronic elements and melodic songwriting. It also features several guest appearances, including Corey Taylor of Slipknot on “Playing God” and Skylar Grey on “R.I.P.”.

Decades follows Scoring the End of the World, released in 2022, and represents another stage in the band’s continuing development. While maintaining the heavier foundations of their sound, the record continues their interest in electronic production, atmospheric arrangements and more accessible melodic structures.

The album’s title also reflects the band’s position at a point in their career where their history has become an important part of their current identity. Rather than simply looking backwards, Decades places that history within a contemporary production and songwriting framework.

A career built around contrasting influences

Since their formation in 2005, Motionless In White have developed a recognisable musical and visual identity.

The band’s early material was rooted primarily in metalcore and hardcore, but their sound gradually incorporated elements of industrial metal, gothic rock, nu metal and electronic music. Their visual presentation developed in parallel, drawing from horror cinema, gothic imagery and broader elements of dark popular culture.

Albums such as Creatures, Infamous, Reincarnate, Graveyard Shift and Disguise progressively expanded the band’s audience, while Scoring the End of the World further established their position within contemporary heavy music.

The band’s ability to combine aggressive instrumentation with melodic choruses and electronic textures has allowed them to operate across several areas of the modern alternative and metal scene without being restricted to a single genre.

Chris Motionless has remained the central figure throughout that development, both as the band’s vocalist and as an important part of its visual and artistic identity. The current line-up also includes guitarists Ricky Olson and Ryan Sitkowski, bassist Justin Morrow and drummer Vinny Mauro.

An exclusive Portuguese date

The 4 July 2027 concert at MEO Arena will be the only Portuguese date announced for the Decades European tour.

The decision to make Lisbon an exclusive stop gives the concert particular relevance for Portuguese fans, who will not have another domestic date on the itinerary to choose from. It also places the band in one of the country’s largest indoor concert venues.

MEO Arena has previously hosted major international acts from across the rock and metal spectrum, making the venue a suitable setting for Motionless In White’s current touring production.

One of the distinguishing features of the 2027 European tour will be the way each concert is individually curated. Instead of presenting an identical support bill throughout the tour, Motionless In White will select the artists appearing with them at each date.

The supporting line-up for Lisbon will therefore form part of the band’s own concert curation, with the complete Portuguese bill to be announced separately.

Tickets for the Lisbon concert will first be available through an exclusive FNAC Portugal pre-sale beginning on 17 September at 10:00.

General public sales will begin on 18 September at 10:00 through Prime Artists and the usual ticket outlets.

The early announcement gives Portuguese fans the opportunity to secure tickets several months ahead of the concert, while the exclusive nature of the date makes the Lisbon performance the band’s only opportunity to perform in Portugal during the announced European tour.
