Extramuralhas 2026 strengthens its identity as a Leading Dark Alternative Festival

From 20 to 23 August 2026, Extramuralhas returns for its 15th edition, reaffirming its reputation as one of Europe’s most distinctive festivals dedicated to gothic, post-punk, darkwave, industrial and experimental music. Organised by Fade In, the festival has developed a unique identity by transforming historic venues into spaces where contemporary alternative music coexists with architectural heritage. Rather than relying exclusively on established headliners, Extramuralhas has consistently assembled programmes that encourage audiences to explore both influential artists and emerging names from across the international dark alternative scene.

Leading the 2026 programme are The Chameleons, IAMX and Moonspell, three headline artists whose careers represent different generations and interpretations of alternative music. For Portuguese audiences, Moonspell’s appearance carries additional significance as the band continues to promote its forthcoming studio album, introducing new material alongside the landmark songs that have defined more than three decades of its career.
