LX EXTREME DEATH FEST 2026 – Day 1

LX EXTREME DEATH FEST 2026 – Day 1

Notredame Productions once again placed its focus on extreme metal with an expanded two-day edition to present LX Extreme – Death Fest 2026, held on June 12 and 13 at RCA Club, in Lisbon.

Following a debut edition that established solid foundations for the festival’s growth within the Portuguese underground scene, LX Extreme returned this year to further reinforce its ambition of celebrating different facets of extreme metal through a national and international line-up marked by heaviness and intensity.

The first day featured Brazilian death metal legends Krisiun as headliners, an essential reference in South American death metal, renowned for the technical brutality and aggression of their live performances. Joining them were Portuguese bands Undersave, TVMVLO and Skinning.

The second day saw Brazilian death metal force Crypta take centre stage, one of the strongest names of the new generation of South American death metal. The line-up was completed by performances from Destroyers Of All, Crucivore and Last Piss Before Death, creating two days entirely dedicated to the most extreme sounds.

DAY 1

Skinning

Skinning, a death metal band from Guimarães formed in 2011, had the responsibility of opening the 2026 edition of LX Extreme Death Fest.

The trio took to the stage at RCA Club to kick off a night dedicated to the most extreme sounds. Despite it being the night of the Santo António festivities and still relatively early, the audience welcomed the band with warm applause, immediately showing their willingness to embrace the intensity proposed by the musicians from northern Portugal.

The performance began with “Sadistic Butcher” and “The Gravedigger”, two tracks that quickly showcased the band’s trademark heaviness and aggression. Adopting a direct approach with very little interaction between songs, Skinning focused on delivering their material, allowing the music to speak for itself.

The aggressive and powerful vocals stood out over fast and cutting riffs, supported by a solid rhythm section where the pulsating bass and relentless drumming imposed an intense and crushing pace. The energy projected from the stage remained constant throughout the entire performance, creating the ideal atmosphere for the festival’s opening.

In the final moments, “Wrong Path” and “Homicidal Experimentation” brought Skinning’s set to a forceful conclusion, leaving a strong impression on those in attendance. Amid applause, the band thanked the audience for their reception, wrapping up a solid performance that opened the first night of LX Extreme Death Fest 2026 in the best possible way.

The second band to take the stage was TVMVLO from Viseu.

Formed in 2020, the group has steadily established itself through a raw and visceral style of death metal, built upon an aggressive sound and a commanding stage presence.

The band began their performance with “Unholy Rites”, quickly followed by “Iconoclast”. From the very first chords, the energy unleashed by the band received an immediate response from the audience, with headbanging spreading throughout the venue as the atmosphere intensified.

Throughout the set, the band performed songs such as “Pyrrhic Triumph” and “Wrath”, delivered with great confidence and solidity. The combination of heavy riffs, a compact rhythm section and an aggressive vocal performance helped maintain the intensity at high levels throughout the show.

During one of the moments of interaction with the audience, vocalist and guitarist António Baptista, accompanied by his characteristic microphone adorned with a skull-shaped stand, thanked Notredame Productions for the invitation and expressed his appreciation for the other bands on the bill, namely Skinning, Undersave and Krisiun. He also thanked the audience for attending on a weekday evening, highlighting the support shown since the beginning of the festival.

Songs such as “When Glory Fades” and “The Cruising Years” maintained the momentum of the performance, at a point when the venue was already considerably fuller and more engaged with the show. The final stretch brought “Mourning We March”, closing an intense performance that generated the first circle pits of the night and confirmed the positive reception the band received from those present.

With a confident and energetic performance, TVMVLO left a very positive mark during the second concert of the evening, helping to raise the temperature of a festival that was only just beginning.

Next up were Undersave, a technical death metal band from Lisbon formed in 2004, known for the complexity of their compositions and the intensity of their live performances, the musicians were greeted by a venue that was now considerably fuller and ready to embrace their sonic assault.

Undersave opened their set with “Peacefully Floating In Prosperous Abyss”, immediately followed by “Unconscious Assimilation… Path to Tangible Reality”. The audience’s response was immediate, with the front rows following the frantic pace of the songs through constant headbanging and the first truly significant circle pits of the evening.

Throughout the performance, Undersave demonstrated confident and technically flawless execution. The vocalist and guitarist stood out for the intensity and strength of his voice, alternating aggressive registers with a commanding stage presence. The fast and intricate riffs were supported by a solid rhythm section, where the drums displayed impressive speed, perfectly accompanying the intertwining guitar and bass lines with remarkable precision.

Songs such as “Unshakable and Unlimited Levels of Obsession” and “Effervescent Futile Thoughts of a Phobic Being” kept the energy levels high, winning over an audience that became increasingly immersed in the performance. The combination of heaviness, technique and aggression resulted in one of the most intense sets of the festival’s first night.

Undersave’s appearance at RCA Club came to an end with “Narcissistic Supreme Alienation”, closing a performance marked by consistency and strong impact among the audience. Before leaving the stage, the musicians thanked Notredame Productions for organising the event, extended their appreciation to the other bands on the bill and acknowledged the support shown by the audience throughout their performance.

At last, the most anticipated moment of the first night of LX Extreme Death Fest.

Brazilian death metal giants Krisiun took to the stage at RCA Club as the evening’s headliners. Formed in 1990 in the city of Ijuí, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the band is one of the greatest references in South American death metal, internationally recognised for its combination of brutality, speed and technical mastery.

Brothers Moyses Kolesne on guitar and Max Kolesne on drums began with a lengthy instrumental introduction that heightened the anticipation of those present for what promised to be one of the festival’s highlights. Shortly afterwards, Alex Camargo appeared on stage and, even before the first song, enthusiastically greeted the crowd: “Good evening, my Portuguese friends! Good evening, Lisbon! Krisiun are here!”

The response was immediate, with a huge round of applause echoing throughout the venue before the band launched into “Kings of Killing”. This was followed by “Apocalyptic Revelation”, “Vicious Wrath”, “Scourge of the Enthroned”, “Necronomical” and “Hatred Inherit”, in a devastating sequence that quickly set the audience in motion. With each song, new circle pits emerged and RCA Club transformed into a whirlwind of energy.

Without giving the audience a moment to breathe, Krisiun continued unleashing classics from their catalogue through songs such as “Combustion Inferno”, “Blood of Lions”, “Serpent Messiah” and “Descending Abomination”. The musicians’ flawless execution once again demonstrated why the band remains one of the most respected names within the genre, maintaining relentless intensity throughout the entire performance.

One of the most special moments of the night came when the audience joined together to sing Happy Birthday to Max Kolesne, who was celebrating his birthday. Visibly grateful, Alex Camargo took the opportunity to reinforce the band’s connection with Portugal, stating that performing in our country is always a pleasure and an honour. He also thanked both Portuguese and Brazilian fans who attended that evening.

Shortly afterwards, Max Kolesne delivered an impressive drum solo. With incredibly fast movements and overwhelming use of the double bass pedal, the drummer showcased his full technical ability in a display of speed and precision that left the audience mesmerised. Equally impressive was Moyses Kolesne’s guitar solo, which earned strong applause thanks to his dexterity and aggression.

After saying goodbye to the audience and once again thanking them for their warm reception, the musicians left the stage to a thunderous ovation. However, the night was not yet over. In response to the crowd’s insistence, Krisiun returned for one final song. During “Black Force Domain”, Alex Camargo led one of the most participative moments of the concert, shouting “Black Force” for the audience to respond in unison with “Domain”, creating a perfect communion between band and fans.

At the very end, the musicians asked for a photograph with the audience to immortalise their visit to RCA Club.

Amid applause, smiles and fists raised in the air, an overwhelming performance came to an end, confirming Krisiun as one of the undisputed highlights of the first night of LX Extreme Death Fest 2026.
