The MILAGRE METALEIRO OPEN AIR festival is scheduled to take place from August 23rd to 25th in Pindelo dos Milagres, São Pedro do Sul. The event’s organizers have recently confirmed the participation of AMORPHIS in the 2024 edition, which will unfold in this small parish of the municipality. The Finnish band will join other prominent names in the metal scene, including their compatriots KORPIKLAANI, the Greek ROTTING CHRIST, the Germans METALIUM, AXXIS, and FREEDOM CALL, the British ONSLAUGHT, and the Brazilians THE TROOPS OF DOOM, among others.
It is worth noting that prior to the announcement of AMORPHIS’s participation, the festival organizers had communicated their intention to release new confirmations every Friday. “Dear ‘pilgrims’ of Pindelo! Miracles happen through effort, and once again, we call upon all of you. After a brief reflection on the conclusion of MMOA 2023, we warmly welcome you to MMOA 2024,” stated a communication shared on the festival’s social media platforms.
The organizers have pledged to maintain their usual dedication, ensuring a high-quality rock and metal event, filled with positive energy over three days of intense celebration. The commitment is to present a diverse and powerful lineup, with weekly announcements made every Friday at 7:00 PM. Further information and tickets are already available on the festival’s official website.
AMORPHIS’s most recent album, titled *Halo*, was released in February 2022 through Atomic Fire Records, with production by Jens Bogren. This album has been described as a “progressive, melodic, and profoundly melancholic masterpiece,” further solidifying the band’s legacy. Additionally, on October 13th, the group released *Queen Of Time (Live At Tavastia 2021)*, which captures two live-streamed concerts performed during the pandemic at the iconic Tavastia Club in Helsinki. This album is now available through the Atomic Fire Records online store.
Headlined by illustrious names such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, and THERION, the 2023 edition of MILAGRE METALEIRO OPEN AIR established itself as a rapidly growing underground event. The surge in ticket demand was so significant that the organizers were compelled to secure a new venue, leading to the festival’s inaugural staging at the Pindelo dos Milagres Industrial Park.
