Vagos Metal Fest announces Katatonia and two more line-up changes

Vagos Metal Fest 2026 has today announced important updates to the programme for what will be its most ambitious edition to date. Due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control, three changes have been made to the official line-up, most notably the immediate addition of acclaimed Swedish outfit Katatonia.

KATATONIA JOIN THE BILL ON 6 AUGUST

Unfortunately, American death metal band Devourment have been forced to cancel their scheduled European dates in August. The band informed the organisers that, due to serious health issues affecting one of its members, it is currently not possible to undertake the physical demands of touring and the extensive transatlantic travel required.

In response, the festival acted swiftly to secure a world-class replacement: Katatonia.

After three decades of constant reinvention, the Swedish pioneers of progressive and melancholic metal will make their Vagos Metal Fest debut during one of the heaviest periods of their career. Led by Jonas Renkse, the band will perform material from their latest album, Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, alongside timeless songs drawn from throughout their extensive catalogue. Fans can expect a memorable performance celebrating both the band’s past and present, featuring powerful riffs, dark atmospheres and the sombre ambience that perfectly suits Portugal’s Metal Capital.

ADDITIONAL LINE-UP CHANGES

Alongside this headline change, two further amendments have been made to the festival line-up.

Adam’s Parade have been added to the programme on 7 August, replacing Anima Inside.

On 8 August, The Crowned will join the bill, taking the slot previously occupied by Noturnall.

These additions ensure the festival continues to reflect the stylistic diversity that has become one of the defining characteristics of Vagos Metal Fest.
