Vomitory lead the line-up for Hard Metal Fest 2027

Hard Metal Fest 2027 line-up for 32nd Edition

Hard Metal Fest will return on January 9 2027 for its 32nd edition, bringing together 11 bands at the Centro Cultural, Social e Desportivo de Tibaldinho, in Mangualde, Portugal. Organised by Rocha Produções, the festival continues its long-standing focus on international and Portuguese metal.

The line-up is led by Swedish death metal veterans Vomitory, Greek extreme metal band Nightfall, and Scottish black/speed metal act Hellripper. Norwegian black metal project Mork will also perform, marking its first appearance in Portugal.

The international programme includes British bands Troyen, associated with traditional heavy metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and Witchsorrow, known for their doom metal sound. Spanish melodic death metal band Death & Legacy add further variety to the bill.

Portuguese metal will be represented by Pestifer, Xeque-Mate, Black Widows and Danger Machine, covering different generations and styles within the national scene.

Formed in 1989, Vomitory have established a long career in Swedish death metal, with a discography that includes Blood Rapture and In Death Throes. Hellripper, the project led by Scottish musician James McBain, combines black metal and speed metal influences, while Nightfall bring decades of experience in the Greek extreme metal scene.

Mork, the project founded by Thomas Eriksen, draws on the traditions of Norwegian black metal. Their inclusion adds another established name from the European underground to the festival’s international contingent.

The event’s 32nd edition also marks a return to Tibaldinho, the village associated with the festival’s origins. With a programme combining established international acts and Portuguese bands, Hard Metal Fest continues to provide a platform for a broad range of metal styles.

Hard Metal Fest 2027 takes place on January 9 2027 at the Centro Cultural, Social e Desportivo de Tibaldinho, Mangualde. Doors are scheduled to open at 14:00, with performances beginning at 14:30. Tickets are listed at 35€.
