KISSIN’ DYNAMITE – Generation Goodbye

At their fifth record, Kissin’ Dynamite, the German hard rock band decided to change things a little bit and present an album about social networks and their influence on people’s life, and on themselves called “Generation Goodbye”.

Considering the times we’re living in where people seem more worried in be connected 24/7, and not living and enjoying their lives, it was at least a good thing to explore and it was original lyrically speaking. It was also a challenge for these musicians to keep up the good work from previous records, which the listener will hear in songs like “Generation Goodbye”, the super catchy “Hashtag Your Life”, “Somebody To Hate”, the sleazy “She Came She Saw”, “Highlight Zone”, and the versatile “Flying Colours”.

These are good examples about the critic in decibels form that the band presented this time, with the guitars of Jim Müller and Ande Braun flying high, along the drums of Andreas Schnitzer, and the bass of Steffen Haile. The lovely ballad “If Clocks Were Running Backwards” shows the other side of the band, a bit more melodic than usual, with the voice of Hannes Braun showing a delicate impact that will captivate the listener.

Recorded with Miro Rodenberg in the producer’s chair, we can hear that the album is very consistent, and does its purpose, but it’s not as kicking and lively like previous releases. Although this new work by Kissin’ Dynamite its worth of giving a listen, cause definitely it will surprise even the most fanatic people of social media, who seem to enjoy more their cellphones and internet, than the pleasures of life.
