Mammoth Mammoth, the down under stoner rockers after a brilliant record called “Volume IV – Hammered Again”, presents to us one year after that last release this new EP called “Mammoth Bloody Mammoth”. The listener can get 4 songs, 2 of them brand new: the ass kicking “Taste Your Blood”, and “Drugs”, one brilliant cover of MC5 “Kick out the Jams”, and one remastered version “Dead Sea”.
The production follows exactly the same line of work of the previous record, with the same kind of sound, and why change if it worked so well in the past for them? This is what the listener can find, along with dirty rock, a stoner feeling, and an appetite for something more to come.
We might have the temptation of listening to this and go for the full length released last year straight after, and let’s face it, if it does that to us, it’s because the EP nails its purpose. We think this released it’s perfect to kick off a good summer night of rock n’roll.
