Following a highly acclaimed performance at this year’s Evil Live Festival, the band returns home for two intense rituals in Porto and Lisbon.
After a stunning concert at the 2025 edition of the Evil Live Festival, which reinforced their status as one of the leading ambassadors of Portuguese black metal today, GAEREA have announced a long-awaited return to Portuguese stages in their own name.
The mysterious collective will perform on 4 December at Hard Club in Porto and on 5 December at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo in Lisbon, promising two performances charged with intensity, mysticism and total commitment from a band that, in recent years, has become one of the most internationally recognised extreme Portuguese acts of all time.

GAEREA’s appearance at Evil Live Festival left a deep impression on all those who witnessed the band’s current sonic and visual power. Both critics and fans were unanimous in their praise for a performance marked by cohesion, the strength of their contemporary black metal and a unique ability to create a dense, suffocating and immersive atmosphere. This impact only heightens anticipation for these two exclusive dates, in which the musicians finally return home to share with their audience the latest chapter in an artistic journey that continues to grow.

Formed in 2016, GAEREA have steadily conquered the extreme music landscape with a discography that combines the ferocity of black metal with a profound emotional core and a strong, distinctive aesthetic sense. Since the release of their self-titled EP in 2016, the band has followed a path of constant ascent, with the albums Unsettling Whispers (2018), Limbo (2020), Mirage (2022) and the most recent Coma (released last year) cementing their place at the forefront of international black metal.
Mirage, their last studio release, revealed itself as a highly ambitious work in which GAEREA delve deeper into themes such as existential emptiness, pain and the transience of life. With tracks like “Salve”, “Mantle” and “Arson”, the album stood out for its atmospheric density, intricate compositions and a production that brings the band’s complex sound to life. The record was widely praised by specialised publications around the globe, consolidating GAEREA as one of the most respected forces in modern sonic extremity.
For these special dates at Hard Club and LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo, GAEREA will be joined by APOTHEUS, one of the most interesting names in Portuguese progressive metal. Hailing from Paços de Ferreira, the group — featuring Miguel Andrade on guitar and vocals, Albano Von Hammer on drums, Tiago Santos on guitar and Daniel Rocha on bass — made their mark with the release of the 2023 album Ergo Atlas, an elaborate conceptual work that combines heaviness, melody and a strong narrative component in a highly balanced way. Their presence on these two nights will ensure an opening chapter that is as intense as it is stimulating.
Schedule:
Doors: 8:00 p.m.
Showtime: 9:00 p.m.
Tickets for the concerts are priced at €27 and will be available from Monday, 30 June, at primeartists.eu and the usual outlets.
